Installing ELEKTRA heating cables on sport fields allows them to be used all year round. Heating increases the hardiness of the grass roots and the ability to withstand intensive use.

Depending on the climatic conditions, the installed power range should range from 50-120W/m2. A lower power is required when the field is covered by a sheet during frost, snow, or rainfall. The sheet is composed of high density polyethylene (HDPE), and is reinforced with a glass yarn net. By using the sheet, the heating required and snow deposit is decreased, and it is easier to maintain a proper humidity for the grass.

According to FIFA recommendations, football pitches should have the following dimensions: Length: 100-120m Width: 64-90m A standard pitch is 105 x 72m = 7560m2 and requires 380-910kW of power. Heating systems do not require any additional electrical installations or separate transformer stations because of the possibility of utilizing the existing floodlight system. The heating and lighting cables can be used interchangeably. Illumination is used during games, and due to large thermal inertia, switching off the heating for a few hours will not have a significant affect on the temperature of the turf.

Paths & Driveways

Slippery or dangerous paths and driveways can be made safe and usable, using our heated cable systems. Our systems are especially useful in domestic and publically accessible buildings. Examples would include sloped driveways outside of homes, which might otherwise require a vehicle to be towed out after heavy snowfall or icy conditions.

Access paths and steps to buildings such as homes, shops, hospitals and care homes can be made safer for all visitors. more

Agriculture & Gardening

Correct humidity and temperature are vital in relation to the health, comfort and productivity of pigs and cattle. Our heating systems help ensure these factors are properly taken care of.

Commercial gardeners and home gardeners can help ensure greater plant yields and healthier plants through the use of propagation systems.

Froststop Attic Systems

Using attic systems from Froststop.ie we can prevent frozen or burst pipes in the home, during periods of cold Irish weather. more
